This looks like a long index finger bent at the bottom, with several other stubby fingers growing out of it on either side. That makes it the fingers radical. A bit creepy, but imagine how easily you could grip something or scratch your back with fingery fingers like these. Pretty nice, right?

This is also a lot like the hand radical (手) but smaller. And what are the smaller parts of a hand? The fingers! You can remember it that way too, if you want.
