A boulder location is a place where there are lots of large rocks. These are the rocky areas you find near the coast or in the mountains that can be a bit dangerous to get across.
This jukugo uses the kun'yomi of the kanji instead of the more usual on'yomi. You learned both of these readings when you learned the vocabulary 岩 and 場所, so you're good to go here.
