Gold, at its root, is made up of silver. Using silver as the root of a coin is a great way to save on gold! That's why, often, if you just scratch gold, you'll find there's silver hidden underneath, at its root.

If you want to hunt for some silver for yourself, all you need is a guinea (ぎん) pig. Guinea pigs can smell silver, so get a couple and set them loose in the woods and they'll lead you straight to it.
