Proof
Prove, Verify
noun, の adjective, verbal noun
Is the evidence bright enough to convince me? Is this really proof enough to prove it?
This is a jukugo word, which usually means on'yomi readings from the kanji. You didn't learn the on'yomi for 明 (めい) with the kanji, so here's a mnemonic to help you remember it:
You need to show me proof to make me believe in the month of May (めい). Does it even exist? It may or may not be real (that's why it's called May), so you have to prove it to me somehow.
