To Torment

As usual, you can guess this is a verb thanks to the う sound on the end. The kanji means frustration, and unfortunately frustration tends to torment people. This verb is pretty advanced, but still useful to know!
We all know it's not okay to to torment each other. So how about we all sign a (さいな) contract saying that we'll never torment anyone ever again?
無力感に苛まれてるんよ。
I'm tormented by feelings of helplessness.
うだるような暑さが私達を苛む。
The sweltering heat torments us.
被害者はまた何か悪いことが起こるのではないかという不安に苛まれていました。
The victims were tormented by the anxiety that something else bad would happen.
