They have strong control over us. This means they never stop forcing us into compulsions or making all sorts of things compulsory.
強制 means making someone do something against their will, often through pressure, threats, or authority. It's used when someone is forced to sign a document under coercion, for example, or when someone is made to return to their country by force. 強制 means there's no choice in the matter.
This is a jukugo word, which usually means on'yomi readings from the kanji. If you know the readings of your kanji you'll know how to read this as well.
