One's Origin
One's Hometown, One's Birthplace
noun
The exit one's body comes from can also be called one's origin.
出身 often translates as one's hometown or one's birthplace. But you can also use it with a school or company someone "originated" from, like in the phrase ハーバード大学出身 (a graduate of Harvard), or トヨタ出身 (someone whose career got started at Toyota).
This is a jukugo word that uses the on'yomi readings of the kanji. You should be able to read this on your own. Just watch out for the つ of 出, which becomes っ.
