What Month
Which Month
noun
You have what month - as in: what month is it? It's 10月, you fool. Get a job, hippy.
This word uses the kun'yomi reading for 何 and the on'yomi reading for 月. You learned those readings with the kanji, but since 何 and 月 both have two readings, here's a mnemonic to help you out:
What month will you choose to get naan guts (なんがつ) in? You've gotta pick a month to gorge yourself on naan until your guts are absolutely stuffed with it. But which month will you choose? Think about it!
Note: 何月 isn't a specific month name, but as a question word, it is asking for a specific month on the calendar — which is why がつ gets used here.
