If you see the kanji restaurant attached to a place name, there's a good chance that it's a restaurant, especially a traditional Japanese restaurant. It also crops up on the end of other places where you can rest, like inns, those traditional pavilions you see in Japanese parks and temple grounds, and tea houses.
